Marine Electric

Off-grid power system

Keep the power on at camp, all Maine winter

Lithium batteries can't safely take a charge below freezing. Ours warm themselves first. Every size uses a heated battery. On the Medium and Large, the Epoch V2 blocks charging below 32 °F, runs its built-in heater from the incoming charge, and starts charging again once its cells reach 41 °F. It keeps running your loads down to −4 °F.

The fridge, the well, the furnace fan and the lights run because this system is the power. It can be the only power on site, or sit beside a generator you already have. Built to order in 2 to 3 weeks. Pick it up and plug it in, or we install it. For camps, sheds and outbuildings, installed indoors or in a dry, covered spot. Not for sleeping or living in.

Not sure which size? Call before you pay. We match it to your loads first. Each part carries its manufacturer's warranty, and Marine Electric adds 1 year on workmanship.

Add-on options

Pick your size, then add solar, a remote monitor (Medium and Large), or Honda generator backup.

Small with add-ons: $3,950. We confirm add-ons with you before your payment link.

Check on camp from home

  • Medium and Large, with the Cerbo GX monitor add-on: the Cerbo GX reads the battery, inverter and solar and reports to Victron's free VRM portal and app. From anywhere, you can check state of charge, solar input and power use, and get alerts for low battery or faults. This needs internet at the site, such as Wi-Fi from Starlink or a cell router. The internet source is not included, and we don't promise cell coverage at your camp. With no internet, the monitor still works on site and catches up when the link comes back.
  • Small: check the battery's charge on your phone over Bluetooth while you're at the camp, within Bluetooth range.

What you get with every size

  • Batteries that warm themselves: heated lithium, so the cold doesn't stop the charge.
  • A complete package, not a parts pile: batteries, inverter, aluminum battery box, wiring and protection, built and matched by us.
  • Fast and easy: ready in 2 to 3 weeks. The Small plugs in. For Medium and Large, we can install it for you.
  • Backed in writing: each component carries its manufacturer's warranty, and Marine Electric adds 1 year on workmanship.

Pick your size and use its payment link above. Not sure which one? Call (207) 874-9569 and we'll match it to your loads.

What the price covers

The payment link is the equipment package for that size. Install labor and freight are not in the price. Maine sales tax is not in the price. Solar, a monitor, and a generator are separate from these three links.

Inverter ratings are at 77 °F and drop as the box warms: 4,000 W on the Large falls to about 3,700 W at 104 °F, and 2,400 W on the Medium falls to about 2,200 W. The Small is for plug-in loads at its GFCI outlet only. It does not power home circuits.
